The nutritionist who keeps an eye on groundnuts
The young doctor Ameth Diagne defended the first PhD thesis on the use of nanotechnologies in Senegal. He uses silver and silica nanoparticles to protect groundnut crops against insect pests and microbial growth (in fields and in storage spaces). This makes it possible, for example, to avoid impact on consumer health but also ensure that the goods comply with the standards and can be exported abroad.
