PLATO: in search of an Earth-like planet

Is there a planet like our own, orbiting a star similar to our Sun? To find out, the European Space Agency (ESA) is developing the PLATO space observatory. With its 26 cameras and wide field of view, it will search for habitable worlds beyond our solar system. This report takes us to the ESA's European Space Research and Technology Centre in the Netherlands and the Institute of Space Astrophysics in Orsay.
