How Guadeloupe is coping with invasive seaweed

Huge sheets of brown seaweed drifting in the ocean are washing up on the beaches of Guadeloupe. Known as sargassum, the Caribbean coasts have had to contend with its proliferation for the past ten years. Capesterre-de-Marie-Galante, a small fishing village, is particularly hard hit. It alone accounts for 40% of the sargasso washed up in the archipelago. It's an ordeal for the local people who have to cope with this health and environmental scourge.
